Dr. Anu Sury joins us from private practice from the Lewisville/Flower Mound area. She practices Family Medicine providing care from the pediatric and adolescent age group to the geriatric age group.  She is Board Certified and has been practicing Family Medicine since 2007.

Having moved to the United States from India at the age of ten, Dr. Sury feels she has had the privilege of growing up with the best of the East and the West.  In addition to English, she is fluent in Tamil and conversant in Hindi.

Dr. Sury graduated from Richardson High School and subsequently attended Texas A&M University in College Station, TX for her undergraduate work.  She obtained dual degrees in Biomedical Science and French.  She then had the privilege of working for UNICEF in India, which she credits as one of the most valuable experiences of her life.  Dr. Sury then returned to the United States and attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she obtained her degree as Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine [www.osteopathic.org].  While in medical school, Dr. Sury was involved in research and was inducted as an Associate Member of Sigma Sigma Phi Scientific Research Society [www.sigmasigmaphi.org/].  She did her internship and residency at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas under the auspices of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  During her post-graduate training, she continued her interest in research and was awarded for the Best Research Project along with her group of peers.  She also wrote a case study that was published in the Continuing Medical Education Journal of Methodist. 

Besides her love for medicine Dr. Sury is also actively involved in her community through Indian Classical Dance.  She has trained in the art for over 2 decades and continues to perform in and around Dallas. “Dance helps me explore human emotions which in turn helps me become a better Physician” states Dr. Sury.

Dr. Sury currently lives in Frisco with her husband and two lovely daughters.
