Dr. Mary Hammack, a well-respected physician, joins us from private practice at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She practices general Internal Medicine, providing medical care for adults of all ages. She has been practicing Internal Medicine since 1995.

She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, TX, [http://www.uthscsa.edu/] completing her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1988. During her first hear of medical school, she received the Wallace McNutt Award as the top student in Gross Anatomy and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society [http://alphaomegaalpha.org] . In the break between the first and second years, she worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Gross Anatomy lab for the first semester Occupational Therapy students, and in her second year, she was a Teaching Assistant for the Microanatomy lab course for the first year medical students. Postgraduate training was obtained at both the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio and at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, completing this training in 1995. Between her internship and residency, she took two years to work as the physician in the Urgent Care Clinic with Humana HMO in San Antonio.

Dr. Hammack is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and was re-certified in 2005. Re-certification is required every 10 years. She was consecutively chosen by her peers as one of the Best Physicians in Dallas in Geriatrics in 2003 through 2008. She has volunteered at the Collin County Adult Clinic [http://www.collincountyadultclinic.org/] and sees patients through Project Access, a Dallas County Medical Society program for the working uninsured. She has served as a member of the Ethics Committee at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She is a Medical Director for two Home Health Agencies and is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, American College of Physicians, and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Hammack is a native Dallasite and graduated from Plano Senior High School. She attended Texas A&M University [http://www.tamu.edu/] where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, graduating Summa Cum Laude. While at Texas A&M, she was elected to membership to Beta Beta Beta [http://www.tri-beta.org/] and Phi Kappa Phi [http://www.phikappaphi.org] Honor societies. She is an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Community [http://www.stmarkplano.org/].

Dr. Hammack now resides in Plano with two lovable Boston Terriers, Penelope and Pronto.
